July 23, 2024 Newsletter

Greetings Fellow Republicans,

The Republican National Convention was a great success, and President Donald J. Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance are our official candidates.

Attending the convention in Milwaukee was a wonderful experience.  The city was beautiful.  Its people were friendly and thrilled to have us there. There were only a handful of crazies whom we ignored.

Everyone was there for one thing - to coalesce around and support President Trump. The breakfast meetings with various state and national leaders were informative. The daily events with delegations from around the country were great fun. The program every evening was inspirational. Every speaker was excellent. The unity that was fostered throughout the week was emboldening. J.D. Vance was an excellent pick from a very wide and qualified bench that the democrats can only dream of having.

President Trump is a different man since the assassination attempt. We could see it in his face and hear it in his voice.  He was not the bombastic character that we've seen at past rallies.  He spoke way too long - I guess that will never change. But everyone hung onto every word he said.  He was speaking to us and to all of America. He is reaching out and making his case to every American. I do believe he is going to work to undo the division and destruction that Biden, Obama, and the media have sown.

He will Make America Great Once Again!

SUPPORT OUR CANDIDATES

We are now in the thick of election season. There are things happening at every level - national, state and local.

Duke Buckner has new yard signs and campaign material which will be distributed shortly. They will be available at our meetings and at the GOP Campaign Office in the Riverwalk Office Park. He has a plan to turn out the vote. You can contribute to Duke's campaign at Voteforduke.com. In this political climate, this cycle is the best chance we have to flip this seat in Congress and send Clyburn, the man who saddled us with Joe Biden, packing.

Bill Hager will have an anedot account up and running shortly to accept contributions.  Stay tuned. We know the dems are going to try to reclaim that District 122 seat.  We can't let that happen.

Jimmie Daley and Chris VanGeison have a primary election on August 27 to run to fill the vacant County Council seat following the passing of Coy Garbade. Jimmie has a meet & greet on Thursday, August 8 from 6-8 PM at St. Paul's Methodist Church, 7488 W. Main St., Ridgeland.

Chris VanGeison is having a meet and greet tomorrow evening, Tuesday, July 23, at Eats & Sweets in Ridgeland from 6-8 PM.

If any of our candidates have any events coming up, please let me know and we will get the information out as quickly as possible.

TRANSPARENCY FIGHT

As has been reported in the news, County Treasurer Mike Skinner is working to bring transparency to Jasper County finances. A GoFundMe account has been set up by concerned citizens to help with legal fees. For those uncomfortable with GoFundMe, an account will be set up soon to accept direct payments. Stay tuned.

UPCOMING MEETINGS

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 13 at 6:00 pm at 1st Baptist Church of Hardeeville. There will be updates on local races and candidates in attendance. There will be yard signs and campaign materials available.

Tuesday, September 10

Executive Committeeman Milan Dubravcic will plan and run this meeting.

Tuesday, October 8 at The Oaks by Eats & Sweets, 893 Grays Hwy, Ridgeland. This will be the final meeting before the General Election. All Republican candidates on any Jasper County ballot will be there to meet you and ask for your vote on November 5.  It should be a great event at a beautiful new venue in Ridgeland.

If you have any suggestions/topics for the agenda, please submit them to Chairwoman Karen Wyld for consideration. As always, new members are always welcome. Please invite your like-minded friends and neighbors to join us and help us turn out the vote in Jasper County.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I know there are races and issues at every level (Trump vs Harris?, State House, county infighting, school board chaos) that people are laser focused on.  We will work to cover them all as best we can. But with so  much happening on so many fronts, we must not lose sight of the big picture. We must support all our candidates up and down the ballot.  We want a clean sweep in Jasper that leaves no Republican candidate left behind.

We must follow President Trump's example and work as a united front to bring Republican victory to Jasper County, South Carolina, and the United States - the greatest country the world has ever seen.

May God bless America!

Karen Wyld
