Treasurer Mike Skinner, in his continuing fight to bring transparency to the county's financial operations, gave an update on his Supreme Court filing to gain access to a number (75+!) of county bank accounts.The county is fighting back. Mike has engaged an excellent lawyer to help him in his fight.

Upcoming Hardeeville Non-Partisan Races
Hardeeville Mayor Harry Williams spoke about the non-partisan races in Hardeeville and announced that he will be seeking a third term as Mayor. Joyce Gerald also spoke about the need for candidates to run for the school board. They need new people who will work for the students. Odd-numbered districts are up for reelection. You can go to SCVotes.gov to check your personal information, including all your voting districts. The JCRP has information to help conservative Republicans get elected.
The deadline to file for the non-partisan races is Thursday, August 15, at noon.
August 27 Special Election For Jasper County Council
There is a special election coming up for the County Council seat that was held by the late Coy Garbade. Jimmie Daley has filed to run, but another person has announced his intent to run. So there may be another primary scheduled for August 27.
